Lens calibration setting changes, still work in progress, but getting there:

Dunnock uncropped, no PP; iso: 250, 1/800, f5. 6, spot metering

It looks pretty good. Be careful with small subjects, though. AF is less reliable with smaller subjects.

Nice!

The 90D is the most underrated camera of the year. It's the best thing I've ever used for aircraft. I have the 1DX and 1DXII, I will not be getting the 1DXIII because I'm certain it won't hold a candle to the 90D (for aircraft and birds in flight).

It would be great if a $6500 camera is not as good as a $1200 one. LOL Guess you mean LV w that red dot thing using tripod not OVF handheld ? Still using my old 7D getting good shots at air shows / bird photography but do it for a hobby.

Jay, nice really like that Shaw AF F-16, nailed that shot over the moon. Check out my A-10 not too shabby w my old 7D and 400 5.6 L. The 100- 400 L IS II has given new life to my old 7D along with Topaz AI noise but getting closer to having that 90D as it seems no 7D III on the horizon. LOL

It's still got a fuzzy focus.. My shots when I first got the 90D were like that.

1: Did you turn off the iTR and face tracking?
2: Are you using a monopod or tripod (MAKES BIG DIFFERENCE)
3. I use BBF and this helps stabilize my camera. I'm really trying to get the focus point TO NOT MOVE!
4. How exact was your exposure? This is really really important

Perhaps an odd comment...but does anyone take images of stuff other than birds (or other flying things)?

There seems to be very few images of people/portraits or landscapes. Is the 90D incapable or am I missing something?

Similar comments were made when the 7D2 was first out. Of course the 90D can shoot lots of subjects. It should be an amazing macro body, and I am keen to prove that once the bugs come back to my area.

Thanks! Agreed on the 100-400II lens, that really is an amazing piece of glass! The 90D isn't perfect, but I've been working it in for a while now, and I'm getting really comfortable with it. The resolution really allows a lot of flexibility even if you don't quite have the reach on the lens. But yes, I would have loved a 7DIII as well!

That A-10 is great, out of Tuscon as well!

The 90D is a beast when it comes to macro work, one of the best DSLRs I've used for it!

Two more months...

I'm waiting as well, there's very little of interest out right now but things really start to get lively around the end of April. I took this pretty soon after I picked up the 90D, now I have some new diffusers that I really want to try out as well!
