Maybe I just need to not be lazy about it, and set the ISO when I change from indoors to outdoors.

I did a shoot a day earlier completely inside, in semi-stable lighting conditions, and I had it set for 200, using ETTL. The shots came out fine.

Thanks for the response.

The one thing I have never attempted was Auto ISO when using flash. Just never felt comfortable with it. Indoors I typically have all the settings on manual, flash on ETTL or Manual. Outdoors typically on Av. However I have not put the flash on the R yet.

I know. I went there with a friend on a 4 day photography road trip about 10 years ago. We loved it.

The switch, but I am glad you asked as I had forgotten that reviewing images shut's it down until the next time AF or shutter is pressed! :)

Some of the little details that you forget about, yet which make total sense in view of the mirrorless camera's design...when the sensor is on, the EVF is on and presenting an image, the IS system in the lens is on, too! No wonder mirrorless goes thru batteries at a faster rate...energize the sensor and the EVF 'at all times', energize the IS 'at all times', too...lots more dependence on electricity.

Brings me back to the warning we used to get from Canon about Live View always energizing the sensor, which heats it up, which increases inherent noise. What happened with mirrorless, relative to that?!

Received my new Rf 85mm f1.2 today. Put it on the camera and forgot I had left it in 1.6 crop mode from the moon shot the other night. Was really surprised how much detail and sharpness there was with an 11-12MB picture. The lens is a beautiful piece of kit, hope I utilize it enough over the years to justify the expense!!

Walked out of work a couple of weeks ago after a storm and was disappointed by the dull sky. Was hoping to race home on the bike to capture something. Things changed by the time I walked in the door and looked out the window! :-)
