Peregrine Falcon monochrome portrait taken with Canon 750d Canon 300mm 100% cropped, haven't achieved better IQ with 90D yet:

To be fair to the cameras, the lighting situation, which has nothing to do with the cameras, is vastly superior in the second image.

Just got my 90D this week. Still setting it up but I am looking forward to trying it out. I shoot birds while out on a pontoon boat in summer with a 400mm prime and shoot lots of macro the rest of the year. Feeling very encouraged by the post I am seeing on this thread. I have yet to post a picture on this forum but with this camera I may just get brave enough.

Some high ISO with the 90D. I think that what is REALLY IMPORTANT is that the EXPOSURE be spot on, and that focus is solidly acquired. I use a monopod for stability and either single or 9 point.

Nice shots, have you tried ISO 1600 and just utilizing the amazing IS of the 100-400 II ? Many have been able to go down to as slow as 1/10th - 1/15th hand held while at F5.6

Strange question. The birds were in a very dark pocket and happening fast. I shoot Auto ISO,. Also, I have Stage 4 C and am on chemo and lots of meds and shake a lot. So. have to use a prop. Still I get great results!

I have other shots of wood ducks and other gems at lower ISOs. It depends on the shot

Also and importantly, I wanted to be ready for a display or takeoff. So I set my SS to 500 on purpose just in case

I think I now have my 90D and 300 f2.8 IS II +1.4xIII dialed in. I'm taking it to an air show in about 2 weeks.
I took these test photos from my backyard. Sky was a bit hazy. Cropped.
