Both pictures taken at Auto Club Speedway in Southern California.

First was NASCAR event several years with the now retired Jeff Gordon driving the #24 car

The Second a Porsche owners club event.

indeed - we should have a thread of it's own for these classics (I've had a couple - LJ GT-R, LJ GTR XU-1, LH, LX, UC)


some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", 1D MK II (broken), and an M5, along with a M6 destined for 720nm

I typed that by memory - always risky - but checked the original file and it was actually 35mm.

One guy in a big ute got closer each time he went past. His last pass was uncomfortably close and I flinched, missing the darn shot. Bloody.

Haha ! Yes, it's awesome to be that close to the action, right ? There've been a few times when I realized I was probably a bit too close - getting pelted by shreds of racing rubber is one sign...There's a reason we have to sign a waiver in exchange for that vest and wristband :-)
