Rangitoto: a young (700 y.o.) volcanic cone with a profile that dominates Auckland's Hauraki Gulf. It is a perfect 260m high cone: i.e. it looks the same from any angle. It is also a World Heritage site for it's emerging fauna, which includes a unique kidney fern.
