WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: Part 702 - Mechanisms

Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Mechanisms. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.


Show us some Mechanisms .. the mechanical things that help us.

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. Thank you. He's made progress in the approx. three weeks of acute-care rehab, but he started from a profoundly low point. The surgery is only the beginning of recovery. Whenever I've visited, he's been in a wheelchair or in bed. In physical therapy, they have him using a walker or (briefly) walking between parallel bars and so forth. He isn't allowed to walk alone. His hands are still partly numb, and using small objects such as forks and pens is difficult. Today I took him a document to sign. His handwriting has become very large and illegible because he can't make precise movements.

He also feels bad, no surprise there.

The treatment team is trying to arrange his move to a skilled-nursing facility a few days from now. Acute care is more expensive. The therapy will continue at the new place.

Those are some life saving Mechanisms, Look..
I do hope that things will get a bit easier.

Thanks, joayne. Photo-ing and participating here provide times of feeling like life is a little more normal. Lately, though, I haven't been able to shoot much. No time to take the kind of walks that turn up interesting scenes.

Nice shots Oh of mechanisms we don't enjoy viewing yet can be a welcome sight under certain conditions. So sorry your husband and you still have those as your daily atmosphere.
I can somewhat understand what you are saying, two weeks ago my wife had a heart attack at midnight, I took her to our local hospital and then she was transferred to a much larger hospital by ambulance 100 miles further from home. I went 48 hours with no sleep and that too was my view for 4 days.
In her case they were able to perform a procedure that was life saving.
We now have a new diet plan,, and exercise program that we are beginning together, which I'm actually very thankful for. So when it stops raining and snowing I'll probably have a good excuse to get out with my camera and shoot some in the country side where we live. I hope you are able to do the same in the near future as well, it's good to help clear our minds I do believe,

Grizz, aww, not you too! Please give your wife my wishes for keeping her health. Go easy on yourself during this stressful time–except do keep up the diet and exercise.

I did tie many flies in my younger days.

My fly tying jig looks totally different from that third hand.

Don, I believe Joayne and I were thinking along the same lines. The little alligator clips didn't look like they would grip a hook well though so had some doubt.
