Last night was a bit rough for astrophotography, but seen the moon was still up decent enough in the sky this morning, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Contrast and sharpness is bleh since it's daylight and of course I edited the jpg on my phone. Need to get a good workflow going on the desktop.

Yes, you can select a grid for live view or EVF.

Does anyone have some images with the R and Tamron 150-600 G2 they can post? I'm either really bad with search or no one is using the combo.

I'm debating on the upcoming RF 100-500L or the Tamron 150-600 G2. The Tamron will work on both my 80D and the R. The RF 100-500L will probably be smaller and lighter but more expensive. Either will be better than the EF 100-400L v1 and 1.4x TC.

WOO WOO WOO why are we posting anything about Nikon in a Canon EOS R forum? Please delete this or move to the Nikon selection GEEZ.

WilsonFlyer wrote in post #18996021 (external link)
Interesting sidebar tidbit that I think is relevant. I don't want to just see this get ignored.

Nikon just released a FW update to the Z6 that gives RAW video output. Did Nikon just single-handedly totally trump the R for video work? Did they know Canon couldn't or wouldn't release such an update to the R? Because of an upcoming release? Because they could use the excuse the Digic 8 couldn't handle it? (Which we all know is untrue because we've had RAW with ML since, what, the Mk II?)

Interesting point of discussion, methinks (hehehehe).
