I think I now have my 90D and 300 f2.8 IS II +1.4xIII dialed in. I'm taking it to an air show in about 2 weeks.
I took these test photos from my backyard. Sky was a bit hazy. Cropped.

I have only shot 4 or 5 prop planes at lower speeds. I got mixed results. My guess is that this
high density mp sensor requires careful panning at slow SS. I'll go back to the airport next week,
and get more practice.

Btw, later this month I have 2 air shows to attend. I plan on renting the Sony A6600 and 200-600 lens.
I'm interested in how this Sony lens performs for flying aircraft. That means I'll have to carry my Canon
gear and Sony gear.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

Hummer feeding chick. This is in the wild. No flashes, no set-up. I was so lucky to click when the little beak showed itself. Love 10 fps!!!

This is an Alpha Male Ring-necked Duck. Note the burgundy "collar" and the greenish tint to the flanks. As well the top of the head is domed not round. An amazing find

Now that I have the 90D, I have been trying to figure out if there is any convenient way to use a smartphone's GPS to geotag photos. The logged coordinates in the Canon Connect app cannot be transferred to the images in DLSRs, so that's a bust. I followed the instructions on p. 475 in the manual for using a Bluetooth connection to geotag photos in the camera, but once started I get the same coordinates for every photo, regardless of how far I travel between shots. I am willing to admit that I may be screwing things up, but I am also willing to conclude that Canon screwed things up. Does anyone know if the 90D and Cannon Connect can be set up to reliably tag photos across space and time? If not, I will just keep using Geotag Photos 2, which has some extra steps, but at least works.
