The worm moon the other night.... as I was heading up to an early bedtime I saw it rising through the trees on the ridge in the distance.... quick grabbed my DSLR for a tree top silhouette. I shot just resting on my deck railing - no time for a tripod. Sony A99ii and Minolta 400/4.5 lens + 1.4X TC.

The crescent Moon joined Venus and the Pleiades star cluster in the west this evening. Here is the view from Brisbane about 45 minutes after sunset.

Tonight's effort :) I was going to setup one of the scopes and grab some proper data for stacking but I forgot we had a catchup video call scheduled with some family so in the end I grabbed these 2 quick snaps handheld with the Tamron.
I'm pleased with these though, the cloud in the wide image adds some atmosphere and I've always loved a dusky blue background sky.

Heya,

Tonight's 26% Waxing Crescent. About 780 meters per pixel resolution, at 0.41 arc-seconds-per-pixel.

Please see my Astrobin or Flickr for the full resolution to appreciate what's in this image on the surface, lots of minute detail.

Astrobin link to full resolution: (LINK) (external link)

False colored version (experimenting):

Celestron C6A (150mm F8 Achromatic Doublet)
Astronomik Green 1.25" Filter (520~540nm)
ZWO ASI183MM CMOS camera
501 frames stacked
Seeing was excellent (allowed use of short wavelength for higher angular resolution potential, so, used green)
