I see what you mean. I know you do a lot of product shooting. So is the answer keep re positioning reflectors, lighting etc till there is no reflection of high lights? I dont do much shooting with lighting or reflectors, thus the question.

I could have moved the strip box on the left behind the bottle a bit more so the reflection would be off the text. I probably would have done the same to the strip box on the right too in order to keep both light reflections balanced. I would want to keep a dark rim on both sides of the bottle to keep it separated from the white background.

I think it would be a good idea to theater when shooting portraits, still life, and products. You can immediately see if you are having lighting issues, and then as you mentioned adjust accordingly.

There's a member on FM, is the best I have seen with products, he's a master, works in and around Hollywood...

Looking with a critical eye that ad agencies do, they would see the very small/tiny spectacular highlights on one of the buns and cheese, and your lamp.
BTW those are a very easy fixes in PS

Only because we are discussing this topic, I began looking for issues with lighting. As the average person viewing I thought they were done quite well and really never noticed the small/tiny spectacular. highlights. I imagine the average customer would viewing them as I, but when dealing with ad agencies, they are the one's with a critical eye for there customers.

I imagine if you do a lot of product shooting as Amair does, he too has gained a keen eye. I always thought his work was quite good..

Anyone used the Rokinon 85 f1.4 for tracking on the R4? How is the AF?

Yeah exactly, I would move the reflector back so that it just hits by the side of the B. Also what I do is measure the distance from that strobe to the left side of the bottle and then repeat that with the right side too so theyre symmetrical.

I'm about to push the buy button for the AR7 IV and the 200-600 lens but I also want a walkabout lens, any suggestions please.

Great! What sort of lens are you thinking about for a walkabout lens. For me I like primes and the Sigma 35mm 1.2 Art is my main walking lens. That’s too heavy and pricey for many so the Sony FE 35mm 1.8 is super as well.

If you want an amazing low-cost/high-performance zoom, then you can’t beat a Tamron 28-75mm and later you can complete the set with their 17-28mm and 70-180mm lenses. Heck, I want them myself and the price is unbeatable and the image quality I’ve seen is stellar.

For more range the Sony FE 24-105mm excels as well.

Good luck and congrats on your new gear...I want to buy that combo myself this year (I hope).

These are my efforts with the Sony A7R4. I used a Sony 90mm macro lens for this shot. It,s more of a test of my reactions, and the camera's, rather than a ''good'' image

It is amazing what you end up doing when you can't get out in a country shut down by a virus.

I was down in Spain through the latter part of the winter, and this shot of a Black Winged Stilt is one I took down there.
