Dark-eyed Juncos are my winter nemesis... once Spring rolls around, the Eastern Phoebes tag-in and take their place as my summer nemesis  I see them every day when I go out to shoot, but they're always jussssst out of reach, and if they are close by, there'll ALWAYS be a blocking twig or they'll be against a crap background, preventing that perfect shot. Between the Juncos and Phoebes, which do I loath more? Well, since I cracked the code on the Juncos and discovered they love coming to feeders, I'm going to say the Phoebes take the crown as my all-time nemesis bird.

Great shots, and what would life be like without a nemesis.
I've got a feeling deep inside that our problems in life are about to change.

Definitely a bird that's high up on my "Must See" list.. you mention a big crop; is it because these OCs are skittish, or because they were just at an inaccessible distance/location? I can't wait to visit Florida, but it's starting to look more and more like the trip next month is going to be cancelled :(

Thanks. I hope your trip continues. I'm off every other week and my employer (the hospital) told me not to travel this week.

Trip got cancelled last night. Oh well, I'll have enough vacation now to take an extended trip at a later date. Was looking forward to the splendors of easy Florida birding

Here's a Ruby-crowned Kinglet to celebrate!

Despite Spring coming on strong, the good times are being hampered by the wholly uncooperative weather. Nothing but clouds and rain on my days off and after I get home from work -?

From the last sunny day, a Pileated and Downy:
