At a transit station, these were just a few of many unused parking spaces. Sorry, joayne, I didn't see your request to keep it positive until hours after my walk. A positive point is that the decrease in driving makes the air much cleaner than usual.

Hi OhLook,

How is your husband doing? Hopefully getting better by the day.

Hi OhLook,

How is your husband doing? Hopefully getting better by the day.

Thanks for your concern. Progress with this condition is very slow. He's in nursing care now. I can't visit (the fearsome virus, you know). We talk on the phone. He says he thinks there's a little more sensation in his hands and a little more control of his fingers, but the difference is so slight he can't be sure. In therapy, he's been practicing sitting up in a wheelchair for longer spells and using a walker. These things would be easier if he got more exercise. He got very little for a couple of days because something went mechanically wrong with his bed; they couldn't fix it and finally replaced it. He does exercises independently in bed.

A staff member at the acute-care hospital said that other people would notice changes before J (husband's initial) would. I found this strange. However, he doesn't so often drop the phone now or accidentally push buttons that beep loudly in my ear or cut off the call.

That's really good to know. I know firsthand how tough a regimen it is. And how long it takes to feel "normal" again. But the PT does absolutely yield great results.

Hope you are taking care of yourself :-)

And here is something from my walk from yesterday, one of my favorite signs of spring

Came back from walking the dog and saw this little guy sunning itself on our front porch.

Spotted a letterbox gnome today on my walk - not sure if it would be better if the mask had been used, or not. Hope folks don't touch it either way.

Wanted to shoot some wildlife today, wind blew a constant 40 mph so took my short lens on a walk to my pond. It's more than 1/2 mile from my house to back of my property, I'm not quite to the back here shooting South, my home sits low to left of this small outbuilding behind trees over looking crop land. The colors are dull and drab this time of year here, this will change soon as it is starting to green up some. I have been working the last two weeks on a forest project, right side of horizon, saw a lot of wildlife but of course no camera in hand. Hoping for better weather and more time outside shooting some pics.

Good catch but what a waste of a mask that some medical staff might be desperate for!

Grizz, although your scene isn't what I think of as an exciting landscape, it does seem a nice calming place for a walk. I can imagine going there to relax.

Pyracantha and unidentified vine next to urban creek today. Heavy overcast, occasional light rain.

grizz, what a beautiful scene. Truly a gift to be able to wander out to a place that's never the same way twice ...

We live in the trees, and stepping out to the edge of the trees there's a wonderful view of the valley

Paul: Wowee, another place I'd rather be than where I am.

I thought that exactly - but wondered if it had already served it's usefulness...

Thank you Paul, I think your scenery is beautiful. We have the four seasons where I live, each is much different and can see drastic changes as you realize but the late winter, early spring are my least favorite, just dull, depressing colors.
It will be very busy here soon and change fast as planting season begins.
