My wife is very supportive and goes with me most of the time, which is great. Then she sits in the car reading, crocheting or worrying about me! At first that was a distraction when I was actually shooting. It took me a while to realize that is what she would be doing if she were at home. So now I focus on photography rather than the fact that she is sitting in the car. The rest is together time. I would love a companion like that. Panasonic Lumix G9 and lenses from 7mm wide to 300mm long.

If it does, how does he focus the lens? What is his contraption called?? I have never seen anything like it before..... Improbable but not impossible. Like can we totally discount seismic activity? CC always welcome.

I have pretty steady hands and was taught to snipe, so I know how to hold a camera steady. The lens has IS and I DO try to keep to the inverse FL law given the IS rating. I have a pretty high kit rate. "All the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow", Leo Tolstoy;

Waiting for something to walk into his camera's field of view? This shot was taken on Saltspring Island, BC, Canada. From my memory of the day our group shot there it would have been a landscape or architectural shot- something like the image below... He is a meticulous technician. I could be wrong, but since he is using a Really Right Stuff ball head, rail and maybe tripod, I suspect it is the RRS Large Flash Ring support Larry
