When I reviewed each image standalone, you could see there is a good amount of distortion and I figured that was causing my issue.

Not sure how to correct distortion on the single images before stitching.

Or is there a way to fix it once they are all stitched?

Curious how you deal with the distortion? I tried a 180* pano.

7 overlapping horizontal frames in portrait orientation. The lens and camera were set level, this was for the land scape and included sky.

Then rotated the camera up roughly 30* and took aprox 12 shots to cover my 180* view to have a lot of overlap.

I then rotated the camera up again roughly 30* and took a deep again.

When put through Photoshop, the image came out a U shape.

Generally for pano's, you need to rotate the camera/lens around the "No Parallax Point" (sometimes referred to as Nodal Point) so that you do not get distorted stitched pano's. If you had your camera mounted via the bottom plate on a head/tripod and just moved it by rotating the head, it is likely you introduced Parallax Effects

Here is a link to a website (external link) that explains it better that I could.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

I don't use mine a lot but I wouldn't want it to be missing out of my bag.

I am looking to pickup this lens for astrophotography with my R5. I am heading out to hit a bunch of the national parks in the western US including Yellowstone in about a month. I wanted to order a dew heater strap to help keep dew issues at bay on nights where I may have problems. Could someone tell me the diameter of the hood right behind the front element or the circumference right behind the first element. Thanks!
