Cosmetically, it's in beautiful shape but there are a couple of mechanical issues...that I know of at the moment. I got a great deal on the camera and it has a couple of features that I wanted. First, the lens is higher quality than my Brownie, which also shoots the same size negative, it can be focused, it has a shutter that goes up to 400/100ths of a second, and it has a mechanical timer. This camera has automatic film spacing, double exposure prevention, and top-plate-mounted accessory shoes and shutter releases. I don't believe the automatic film spacing will work using 120 film in this 616 film camera so I'll probably have to manually space my exposures like I have to with the Brownie. That's something I need to test. As for the faults, the camera back is tight and difficult to open but I should be able to make that work smoothly. The other issue is the shutter release located on the top plate has a mechanical linkage to the shutter on the lens. The linkage needs to be tweaked a bit so that the shutter button will release the shutter as it should. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and hopefully, my frustration level will remain low. ![]() ![]()

It was easy enough on the profile shot but on the 3/4 view, I had to put it on the lens bezel where the shutter speed and aperture adjustments are. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

Apricane Shooting the breeze More info | Apr 01, 2020 18:49 | #39135 Apricane wrote in post #19036928 Right now the advice/requests that I've been seeing is that you shouldn't be going into the wilderness in general, avoid going to the cottage, etc., and if you need to get into your car to get somewhere, then you're probably going too far. What I've been doing so far, since I need a lot of walking (I would normally walk an average of 5km/day, sometimes a lot more), I go out about once a week for a couple of hours, which lets me go to the Market area (I take a camera with me, naturally, and will shoot a bit on the way there and back). Even that is probably ill advised since there are so many people there it seems. To keep myself disciplined I avoid any use of tripods or anything that makes me feel like I'm setting myself up anywhere for too long. I'll try to time my walks with the right time of day at which I'd like to be shooting, as I also wouldn't just sit and wait somewhere for sunrise/sunset, as more time spent outside is more time for anything to happen that could be a threat. I also avoid touching just about any surface, though the last time I went for anything else than a booze run I did touch the door handles of the parking lot - however, the streets are virtually empty with parking spaces everywhere, so there isn't anyone using the parking lot. So I guess it's an end to going to the Market area: the situation apparently got so bad in the area that random border checks are being introduced... in between provinces. Basically, this means that I might have to explain myself if I want to cross the bridge that's just a couple blocks away from my apartment and, while I'm comfortable enough with my approach to be satisfied that it meets the threshold of what's being asked of me, I'm not sure that... whomever would be enforcing those checks would be. Be very afraid, because that would mean that you'll be subjected to more photos of my cooking/food for the next little while...and this possibly as soon as this very evening ![]() Apricane flickr
