Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Things That Start with the Letter "S". As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us Things That Start with the Letter "S"... As we Social Distance, we can still look around and find things that start with the Letter "S". Show us what you got!

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Super Moon

I realized that this is the super moon about 9:30pm and then rushed out with the gear I could put together quickly. It is clouding over and we are expecting rain for Wednesday afternoon and evening, so not much chance to shoot.

I used a Vanguard Alta CA tripod

The first with surrounding partly cloudy skies

Trevor, not trying to take your idea but I was out shooting the moon this evening before getting on the forum. I did not do so well, hand held 120-300 with 2x converter, than noticed I was only shooting in jpeg. Shooting into the sky is a challenge for me, day or night it seems. I'll go now and find my own subject another day. I noticed we have a different angle on the Moon we share, mine from about the middle of the US, 9:30 Tuesday evening.

Steve.. remember that this is a different side of the moon and Trevor's image is from tomorrow and yours is from today, although he took his shot yesterday... :p

I just wish I could see this Pink Super Moon!
Raining in the desert, again..

Honestly, I don't think you have anything to worry about. It's not a competition and if one compares the photos that we take there will always be ones that we consider better and worse than ours. Enjoy the experience of seeing the beautiful moon - I just love its light and I enjoy looking at it - camera or not...

Right now we are 17 hours ahead of you in Missouri, and so when I took the photo around 9:20pm (21:20) Tuesday my time, it would have been 4:20am your time on on Tuesday morning, so I think that's still valid for the period we're working in, even in your own time zone! :-) I spend my time doing this a lot as I commune with family and friends in Quebec, Vancouver, the US and Japan. When I was first married my Canadian relatives would often call us in the middle of the night as they had not got their head around the national date line thing. I decided it was easier to move to Canada! LOL!!!

Yep, we share the same moon but see it from inverted angles!

Yeah.. It's out of the time frame window
So it really wasn't taken after Tuesday when the Theme was posted ...
Should we ask that the images be removed, as they don't fit the parameters?
