So this is a threefer, three briges within half a mile of each other on the river Tweed. The A68 runs over the original 1779 bridge, with the Leaderfoot viaduct a little further upstream. Horrible, drab, dreichy light, typical of Scotland in August, so straight to black and white I'm afraid.

I reckon these fit in bridges, at least bridge construction. First is an iron spike used in forming concrete. The wooden beam is long gone. Second is forming boards and concrete. 110 years old.

The day after the day after (was working on the Friday) lockdown was eased in Scotland, I got out after dawn. This is the bridge that leads from the Black Isle to Inverness. The warmed up one is the edit.

That is a very impressive bridge and shot. Quite atmospheric, but I prefer the original.

I think that nature will beat us almost every time ;-)a

I was in San Francisco looking for birds when I noticed this interesting bridge.

Anyone recognize this bridge? Photo was taken by my mother several years ago, possibly in Alaska, but not sure about that.

That's the Astoria-Megler Bridge, in Astoria, Oregon. On the left is Astoria and on the right is the south side of Washington State.
