[QUOTE=bobbyz;19050479][QUOTE=AlanU;19050317]I'll see how the R5 handles when it hit's the shelves. All of the camera shops are closed down so I wonder what Canon will do when they finally decide to release the beast.
It'd be nice to see if there will be the option of sRaw or mRaw. The first test I'll do is to use try out my old EF 24L mk2 and 70-200 f/2.8IS mk2 with a lens adapter. I may find myself getting a cheaper 16-35 f/2.8mk3 or go with an RF 15-35 f/2.8.
I understand but at the same time drives are getting cheaper. 50MP files lossless compressed are 35MB each. Sony should figure out lossless compression.
What you guys shoot? These cameras barely make any noise. Maybe it is me used to machine gun sound of the 1dmk2.
It is great that Canon is finally coming with such a camera. Wrong timing now. It will be hard to push people back from Sony to Canon.
I'm not interested in video at all. The most I do is video documentation volunteer work for my kid's elementary school. The Sony A73 has been an great tool for my demands in video.
Canon sure is slow in the races but the R5 seems to be making Sony heads turn. Again I'm not interested in video one bit so that's not a topic for me to discuss.
If it wasn't for my current Canon EF glass ownership I wouldn't be so excited about the R5 and R6. A single purchase of the Canon R5 or R6 will activate an entirely new world in different files that are non Sony. That gives me some flavours to play with and enjoy. I'm speculating that I'll have to spend around 5 grand++ CDN after taxes for the R5. I do not want to be a guinea pig in purchasing the R5 until it gets some firmware enhancements to remove bugs.
Bobby you may have observed how lush / rich your Fuji GFX50S files feel in post processing. Even the Fuji aps-c files have this heavier richness in Raw form. My 5d3 and 5d4 doesn't feel as anemic as the Sony files. I do need to change my process in post to add to the Sony RAW file foundation.
I can see people having a hard time leaving Sony due to lens lineup and body features. The cost of glass going from Sony back to Nikon and Canon FF mirrorless is all a painful journey too. In my particular case I'm still somewhat deep into Canon EF glass. Adapting my current Canon glass with native AF performance is a fantastic reason to get Canon flavour with an easy on the wallet new mirrorless system to jump into.
The entire Camera world seems to be stimulating change and pushes to greater hardware.
TBH I'll be incredibly happy when Sony put the A74 on the shelves. I really do like the 24-30 MP resolution sweet spot. But if I must go higher in res......I'll go do so.......
