Ed you are a legend and you got it precisely! Congratulations!!!!

To be precise it is Tiritiri Matangi Island, in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf. The island is listed as one of, if not the most popular, tourist attraction in Auckland. It is an island restored to its natural conditions and used as an open sanctuary for wildlife. It has some of the rarest animals in the world, including the Takahi (around 300) and the 265 Million year old Tuatara - an animal that preceded the dinosaurs.

The juveniles of this animal have a third eye that looks skyward, probably an evolutionary protection against predation by NZ's falcons (now extinct)

Hi Ed...

With the ToiToi grasses and the look and feel of the environment, I would guess we are still in NZ. North Island again?

Sorry, I looked up Matanga and it showed Phillipines - my fault.

Close as in "Aberdeen is close to London"? Sorry, it is a little too non-quantitative to give a meaningful answer. I'm not being difficult - really :-)
