Idaho's Whitewater is coming in. This is where I'd like the Tammy 70-180. I pulled over to grab some shots of this group coming through. All with the Sigma 56/1.4(85mm equiv).

Sure would have been nice to have had the a9+200600 but the Riv+EOS 400/5.6
is what was in my hand. Hat off to anyone who images this missiles.

Anyone in here have the 20G yet? I've been watching/reading reviews, but I like hearing opinions here too. Seems very close in quality to the 24GM which speaks volumes.

The 20G is a really tempting lens for me because I'd love to have a fast small AF wide-angle prime to pair with my Sigma 35mm 1.2.

Performance-wise the 20G looks great - no concerns. However, the 24GM really crushes it in the bokeh department. Bokeh, of course, has diminishing value with wide angles, so I'm not critical at all of the 20G's less-great bokeh, but rather wondering if I'd prefer the 24GM.

Relative to 35mm, the 24GM doesn't provide as much focal length separation as the 20G. In fact 18mm would be the best FL to pair with 35mm (so I'm also contemplating reacquiring the Batis 18mm, though it's slower), but the 24GM is still reasonably wide and has that wonderful bokeh.

I've been stewing on this quandary for a few months now. I can absolutely see myself going with the 20G though.

I've been going back and forth for months as well, with the Tam 17-28 thrown in there too. Not planning on buying anything for a while, so it isn't a pressing issue, yet I convince myself each day that one of the three is right for me. It's torture. I have a huge gap in focal lengths right now as I only have a 14, 50, and 105mm.

Had a nice walk in the foothills today at lunch and caught a great view of the capital. It's a beautiful day out there.

24GM would sit real well in your kit. I like to have primes spaced by 2x and 24mm is about that relative to 50mm.
Sigma 24mm if you don’t mind the extra weight.

@ eriet have a look at this to pull behind your Jeep, there's only one caveat, you have to move down under. They are not available in US . They are made for Overland Trekking, lots of ground clearance for off road.

Testing the Autorknips II shutter release with my mini Speed Graphic camera. I used the "23" Graphic back with 120 Ilford HP5 Plus film. I also tested the Lightmeter app created by David Quiles. I bracketed my shots to be safe but it worked fine.

Exif info: iso 400 - f8 @ 1/50.

This was a fun shoot using my mini speed graphic for the 2nd time and using the autoknips II shutter release for the first time. I developed the film at home using the Lab Box 120 and Cinestill Df96 for the 2nd time.

I used a bit of a cheat for focus. I prefocused using the ground glass at 8' using a string with a knot so I could photograph myself using the 'remote' shutter release.

Oh, I believe that's moire caused by the window screen rather than newton rings.

I agree about the focal lengths, and I really enjoy working with primes, so the 24GM has always been the front runner. It's got a really nice edu discount too (~1150 new). The 50 and 105 are both Sigmas, so weight isn't too big of an issue, but I think the 24GM would be a lens that I'd really appreciate the weight and size savings on for hikes and such. I also plan on upgrading my A7II to the A7IV whenever Sony finally decides to release that. I love my camera, but the battery and AF updates are just too substantial to pass up on. I think after those purchases, my kit will satisfy all of my needs and most of my wants. Again most of this is at least 6-12 months out, and obviously longer if no new body is released, but GAS keeps my mind busy!

That thing looks cool. My jeepy couldnt pull it. My 3" lift kit 35" rock tires make my jeep hard to drive without pulling a 1800 LBS TAB. Anything heavier is bad. Jeep just put a diesel in and changed the suspension.... but I cant do a new Jeep. Thinking a https://sportsmobile.com/sportsmobile-4x4/ (external link) is my next..... then I would trailer the motorcycles but 4x4 and camp wouldnt trailer anything.
