Very nice shot, Shalu. I shot a number of birds just like the two you posted, and did my darnedest to figure out what kind of warbler they are. With all the photos I looked and compared, I kinda felt that they were orange-crowned warblers. The orange crown is rarely seen. It's only visible when the bird is excited and raises its head feathers.

My main reference is Sibley, 'Field Guide To Birds of Western North America. But the photo in this book are deceiving. They do not show the bird's yellowish olive color that we are seeing. Check out the link above, and see what you think. Another possibility is the Yellow Warbler. See the link below.

Mike, I believe they are Yellow Warblers. The yellow is quite bright, including their faces, and they have strong yellow eye-rings. The upper parts have an olive cast, but the wing coverts have yellow edges, consistent with YEWA. I think the lower bird is a female, but I'm not sure about the upper one.Males usually show red streaks on the breast, but that's variable. Bright Orange-crowned would still have a grayish olive face with contrasting eye-arcs rather than rings. But this wouldn't be my first incorrect ID.

Thank you very much, Mike! Both are possible, I just don't know enough to tell the difference。 And the birds in my photo are very small to see the fine details since it is heavily cropped. The thing that bugs me is that the photos I see in those reference pages are nowhere near as vivid yellow as I saw, and I did not enhance the colors in my photo at all, and they are the same color as I remembered seeing them.

Nice capture. The mirrored pose makes it especially interesting.

Finally got a few shots I was happy with.... Not bad for only a 200mm lens - though, I will admit, they are cropped pretty heavily.
