Photo of birds was taken with flash in a very dark shady spot, cut and pasted onto the background. Second pic is the actual background.

Beautiful shots, Paul. But for me the changed background in the first image doesn't work. Too much disparity in the light. But could you please post the original of the first image, which for me could be brilliant with the action caught so well.

Thanks for the comment, these are heavily cropped shots, even here the light is uneven because of use of multi flash. One of the problems of high speed multi-flash photography is photos often have an unrealistic quality.
