ok, can we all work harder to push it over 10,000 by the end of the year? :-P :p

At the pace this is going, we should hit 10,000 by the end of the month. :-D

A really great Pipit shot Richard. I too usually see Pipits on Posts. I wonder if you manage as I do to get the pipit shots from the car?.

Thanks Paul. Yes you're right, but I've also been able to get out and walk slowly while they gaze about.
This one is on fence along our drive which they like to frequent.
Your Skylarks are another thing altogether. Can't get within a bulls roar of them.

Ruddy duck. with M6II

Very different, to me, and beautiful duck.
The colours are very nice along with the overall composition. The water droplets adds to overall appeal.

Hi Richard...

Thanks for the kind comment. All the owlets are now out on their own, and mom did a great job of raising them over the past several weeks.

Hi is there any reason you do not put your EXIF with the photo as it is a stunning shot.

Locton.

Me?

If so, for some reason recently it's not been showing up.

I don't think I've made any changes, I'll check though

Richard, I watched this pair of skylarks from a distance doing some sort of arial courtship behaviour and noticed that one of them kept coming down to this post. I literally had to walk in slow motion as I approached the post. Each time it came down I was a little closer and it filled the frame a little more. I have this same shot 5 times but at different distances. But your absolutely right birds like to frequent their same favourite branch or post within their territory, its just a matter of waiting and being patient and eventually in some cases if the bird does not feel threatened it will land in front of you. The is exactly the way I got this Yellow Wagtail a few days ago.
