Something different. Just some barbed wire and a piece of old wood.

To me, turning nothing into something is part of the art of photography.

Quite agree. Someone has already seen a bird in the old chunk of wood, and a couple of days after taking it, I've just seen a "rabbit"! Or maybe it's a dog. :-)

First things I saw was a praying mantis, in the barbed wire, and a croc's head, in the wood. Literally immediately, without thinking about it.

Kind regards, Wim

Hi John...

Now that's a special photograph! I have no idea how you accomplished it, but if you're willing, it would be fascinating to learn how.

Hello Tom,

Thank you for the kind words. I've always wanted to do a photograph like this and finally learned yesterday (called the Droste Effect). First I photographed the clock face from an old wall clock in our house. Then I used Photoshop CS6 to make a circular crop of the clock face. Then I went to photospiralysis.com, and applied the Droste Effect to the circular clock face and came up with the final image. The first time I attempted the effect, I made a mistake and photographed the face of a Carriage Clock (too small). Then I tried the larger wall clock face and Voila!

I hope this helps you achieve the Droste Eeffect to your photographs as well.

All the best,
John

I sometimes feel that time spirals out of control too.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
