Still way too dry here for much, even though it's autumn.

we've had our mushroom crop but the fungi have been later.
Severe cold snap hitting us tonight will slow things down

Guess we will get tht next week then. Someone at work said weather going to turn Monday. So long as we egt some decent rain I don't mind. It's been a wonderful autumn weatherwise, but not really able to enjoy it due to lockdown.

I bought a small van that I can sleep in, in February with intention of doing short trips on days off now I am semi retired. Best laid plans ....

Anyone know what this could be? Growing on a stem in my backyard. The sporangia look like tiny flowers.

Saw this purple stuff the other day. It's Autumn here in Australia and all the leaves on the ground and damp conditions have resulted in a ton of random fungi and lichens popping up, never seen a purple one here before, but maybe I was never looking hard neough.

I have no idea what these are either, there were a lot of them growing in a small area.

The area where I usually hike has turned into a swamp nearing the end of autumn and fungi have started blooming like crazy. It's quite dark and there's a million fallen trees so the 7D2+Tamron 150-600mm probably wasn't the best choice but it was what I had at the time. I have to go back with something more appropriate before they all die off for the year.

ps. Anyone know what this is?

My swamp is very alive at the moment, unfortunately very dark too. I really need to take a flash and diffuser but it's already tough enough hiking through, under and over things.

Someone once advised me to take white cardboard and tin foil to use as reflectors ...

Good advice and I have been saving some materials like that. It's usually ankle deep water and all the surfaces are damp so I've been a bit lazy in taking extra gear out there. I might have to get my old tripod out and use that or whip up some kind of pole with a flash/clamp attachment that I can just stick straight into the mud to hold onto things.
