Found a perfect little piece of paradise near Lake Pukaki, NZ, to spend the night... The same night that there was auroras and a beautiful Milky Way, without moon. What else can yo ask for?

I totally freaked out though when I heard what sounded like a possum. A very weird noise, like he was very angry. I'm so glad I managed to get the shot anyway... :-P

The perfectionist in me is just disappointed that the arch is not centered over the mountain range. Doesn't matter, this one will end up on my wall when I go back home. It's only the third time I get to have the entire arch. Third time's a charm, right ? ;-)a

Thank you very much. It still remains my favorite MW shot so far. Hopefully I’ll get some even better this season. ;-)a

Last night in Tekapo, New Zealand. This is Lake McGregor. Quite a nice reflection! It was stunning to stand on the sand and look down to see the stars. It felt like looking down into a big hole, definitely didn't feel like water or even a surface of any kind.

A few days ago, 5 min drive from where I live in Twizel, New Zealand. It was literally freezing cold and a lot of fog. I had to shoot the foreground twice because during the first try, the fog just covered everything, before retreating a few minutes later.

First test shot with the Canon EOS Ra camera. Taken with a 20 second exposure and the self-timer. The glow on the horizon (left) is from the city of Sydney. Aside from vignette removal and an edit (due to a passing truck and its bright headlights), this is essentially the JPEG from the camera without further enhancement.
