Mallards, Sadly this is the last duckling left of nine. Unfortunately the gulls picked them off one by one.

I'm not completely sure about the ID. It looks like a Bushtit, but it perched on the top of a bush in good light with a nice background for a full 30 seconds. Definitely not Bushtit behavior.

Ken...I do believe it's a bushtit. And a very nice shot it is! On very rare occasions, I've had them pose for me too. Like you, I was perplexed by their behavior (still am).
