Me too and I prefer the old.

You find that often here in the Great Plains, a 100 year old barn next to a modern metal building or a new tractor sitting in front of it.

A very old building in a tent

Hagar Qim, Malta. Estimated to be well over 3 or 4 thousand years old (not the tent -? )

The tent was erected to protect the site from the elements. The reason was that when it was built it would have had a roof attached. Then after it had been abandoned it had cover with a protective layer of sand. Now, it has been exposed to the elements and was being degraded. It's in a very exposed part of the island very near the coast.

That stone is estimated to be about 15 tonnes and nobody has any idea how they got it there?

The tent is also designed that if/when they take it down it will not have left any trace that it was ever there.

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

This is the 'sister' to Hagar Qim, Mnajdra temples just a few hundred yards away. It show just how exposed they both are there on the west coast.

Nobody really knows just what they were used for and it's assumed they were temples?

I'm guessing this building dates to 1890. There's just something about it that feels very turn of the 20th century. Ellicottville, NY.
