We have a small crabapple tree in the yard and I see the owls in it sometimes. But it was getting late and I had to use a 70-200 rather than the 100-400. Luckily he had moved down to a lower branch and I was able to get about 15 ft. away from him. I think since they live here in town, the presence of people doesn't bother them as much. Thank you. It has been fun to have the family of owls around this spring. Especially with all the "stay at home" time.

I think my 7DII needs a bit of micro adjustment on tele lenses. I'd really have to look at several other images to have an opinion. In the photo you posted, you were using a 2X TC. Honestly, I've never been really thrilled with the 2X TC. I much prefer to use the 1.4 TC. Image hosted by forum (1051036) © Lame-Duck [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. AcademicNomad Goldmember More info | thanks Mike. I try this method with shorter lenses. Will give it a try on the Tele. The lenses are spot on on the 1Dx II. It is the 7D II that always gives me a less than satisfied feeling with the end product (when TCs are in the equation). Desire to learn; a camera & a few other things.

My 100-400mmII with the 1.4 needs about +13 MFA when used with the 7D2. With that adjustment it auto-focuses great. Canon R5 and R7, assorted Canon lenses, Sony RX100, Pentax Spotmatic F
