Ugh. That picture tells a sad story.

Hrm,

Anyone using any of these Viltrox AF lenses for X mount? There's quite a few fast primes with AF on Amazon and they're rather affordable. I imagine they're plastic and have slow wire focus or something like that. But I'm curious if optically they're any good wide open. Nice to see options that are that fast and have actual AF (if it even works).

Very best,

havent been photographing much lately, and the little that i have has not been edited.. trying to get back into it.

not to long ago i photographed and shared here a photo of my sons audi s5..
i've been wanting a new car for years, my 2009 toyota yaris has beeb a reliable car but certainly not a fun car..
my sons car tempted me to get something crazy , go all out on something newer, german and fast.. , but ,, I opted for reliable and low monthly payments instead  that would still let me put some aside for the home i want to buy in the future
sure the little 4 banger is not as fast as the six cylinder bmw's and Audis i was looking at , but the six speed manual makes for a nice fun ride in a honda.

again, my previous ride was a 106hp base model toyota yaris.. so this 2020 Honda civic SI , is still quite an upgrade:-)

Nice car, enjoy it well. Not due for an upgrade myself yet

I been really lucky to have driven loads of cars when I worked at Ducati and plenty of them exotic, from Alfa GTA to Ferrari’s (612 my fave) and lambos, Ford GT (the new one), Porsche GT2 (The 997 & very mental one) Astons and Jags Merck’s and BMW and Audi’s of course. These days I have a 14 year old seven seater Renault that I quite like and it keeps passing the test here so I keep driving it. Also have a now 5 year old Ford Focus 1L eco boost (123Hp though) its a good spec so happy out still. It was great to be able to borrow pretty much any car I wanted back then but even after driving all those flash motors they all feel slow (not the 997 GT2) compared to a big bike (haD a desmosedici out for a few days once, what a bike) more so when you get on track with a sorted factory bike. Anyway point is I guess I’m happy driving a small car these days just as well too :-P
My other favourite car was our Smart for two, so much fun at slowish speeds but still quick enough about the city and twistys if you were committed to embarrass the usual bully in a beamer while out and about.

I am absolutely enamored with the X100F. After spending some time with it and the manual, it's become the camera I grab whenever I leave the house.

I may get a few accessories for it; thumb grip, lens hood, etc, but right now I'm happy as Hell with the images I'm getting...

My buddy has the 85 and absolutely loves it. Sharp as a tack and AF almost as fast as my 90 (that he borrowed to compare).

I love the Honda Civic Si. Super fun little cars. Do they still have the silky-smooth shift action? My gf back in 09 bought a brand new one, and it was a blast to drive w/ that high redline and VTEC.

Before I was a photography guy, I was a die hard car guy. In fact, photographing my cars is what really got me into photography. I was big into Subaru STi, Nissan Z cars, and I spent ungodly amounts of time + money on them in my 20's and early 30's, money that instead should have went to more responsible things like retirement, house, etc. Fun YOLO years, but stupid years. As a penance, the past 4 years I've been driving a beat up 2009 Toyota Rav4, and life is so carefree. On occasion, I'll spec out a BMW M2 Competition or a Porsche 911, but then I realize how much more I love the feeling of not worrying about car payments, door dings, being able to park anywhere I want in crowded lots, driving it year round through snow and rain and not caring, all the wasted time washing and waxing... ugh, no way I'll ever get back into a nice car, too much anxiety.

I drive a 2007 Chevy pick 'em up truck. Been paid off for a long time and I just did the brakes for the first time at 120k. Pretty amazing.
I used to have a VW fetish and spent a LOT of money on them. I like nice things but prefer now to pay my mortgage, buy some cameras and records, and enjoy my family.

I'll let my friends spend their money on cars. I'm good. That's not to say that I wouldn't have a Porsche in the garage if I had the chance. Hah, I'm not crazy.

The Cat and Frog. We rescued a slightly dried out frog today, the cat found it and called out after tapping it a couple of times. Thought it best to pop it in some water to see ( and to let the cat know not to eat it). Happily hopped away after about 30 mins of water time.
