St Cirq Lapopie. One of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France and it lives up to it's name. If there is ever a big ground tremour the church will get very wet from about the 300 foot drop in to the River Lot

St Paul's Cathedral centre. A viewpoint of 1960s London from the top of the Monument to the great fire of London - September 1666. Many churches in the City can be seen in this picture.

My viewpoint for the above picture. The Monument to the Great Fire stands 202 ft (61m).

Gorgeous!

It's a very popular little village and for once the French have got it almost right. The car park is quite close to the bottom of the hill and it's a steep road up to the village. That keeps a lot of people out that don't like hills :-P

Whoever built the church had a load of faith in their God and that the cliff is stable. It's on the edge of about a 500 foot drop! It is a lovely part of the country. We had a number of holidays there both before and after moving to France. The River Celé is close by, off of the River Lot, and our dog was named Celé.

Hi John - I debated whether or not to post the Monument - Sorry I couldn't find a better shot but I wanted to show where I took the cityscape from. I think most of the UK is closed now but hurry up to achieve your climbing ambition before some crank decides it has sinister links and wants it pulled down.-?
Anyway, the Wikilink will answer a few questions.

Great work accepting the trees in the foreground and making an image that captures the beauty of the scene. Nicely done, down to the lady walking her pup on the RHS.

Thank you very much GlimmerMan, much appreciated. Just one of those pictures that I rejected some time ago and had got lost on an old HDD. However, on further inspection I decided to work on it. Thank you.

Image taken ~20 minutes after sunset. I couldn't tell if this church is still in use. There is no parking available but the sign and grounds are well-maintained with Old Glory flying proud. Buildings, however, seem to have gone a few years without the needed attention. Windows are fine; that's just a shadow that could give the impression of damage.
