Peak action capture, very nice! Great color and clarity of both the heron and the water. What did it end up catching?

Nice play between light and shadow, how the tail of the bird is lit against the shadow-side of the brick building. And of course, your choice of bird is perfect, I can't get over the bronze eye shadow of the female Fairy Wrens :p Top notch, Richard, thank you for the share!

Thanks Matthew much appreciated. That eye makeup is very well done on the girls :-P

Lovely shot Ed.
You get some beautiful and unusual (for me) birds.

Thanks. These are mostly from my numerous trips to Costa Rica. Haven't been there since November and haven't been out much locally so mostly looking through untapped photos in my library for ones I missed the first time around.......

Many thanks, Mike. I wouldn't have posted the shot of talons due to heavy crop and too much noise reduction applied, but I was astounded that only a 2-3 weeks old owlet could have talons developed like that.

Found an Osprey on a small farm pond today. Only had the 100-400 with me. Will go see if it's still around tomorrow with the 600.

Beautiful photo of amazing birds. We saw a fascinating TV program a while back on them.
Certainly a bird of great beauty.

Was out and about today and this beauty came to check us out in a car park
