I have a Tamron 28-75 for my A7III which I'm very happy with, but I often feel I kinda lack a wide(r) angle, and reach is sometimes a bit too limiting too. I always had a 24-105 on my Canon SLR's (and a 24-120 on my D750 which I adored) so considering to get the Sony 24-105. Anyone went from Tamron > Sony? Experience?

Ive owned the 28-75 and owned the 24-105 in my canon days. Havent owned or used the Sony 24-105 but I have followed the FM Forum discussion on it and it seems to be a stellar lens for what it is. If you can live with f/4 you cant really go wrong. Many call it the perfect travel lens

I see Leica have announced the 40MP M10-R. A bargain at £7100 without a lens :eek::eek::eek:

A friend of mine has the FE 24-105, and outside of the 90 macro it is the only other lens he has and he realyl likes it.

Would love to own one, I still have quite a bit of Leica M lenses that I use on my Sony but I can't justify that price.

A couple more from Roan.

In the Doe River right next to the visitor center...several people were at the picnic area watching me walk around in the water. When I got out one asked if I got the shot...another said they were waiting on me to slip and fall...

And this one might still be a WIP...I wandered way off trail interested in something else and found this little area and worked it for a while, until I couldn't take being eaten alive anymore.

Beautiful shots Eddie, I think the last one is a Ketsrel, a small falcon.

Do any of you use a power bank with your Sony camera occasionally? I want to use my ZV-1 as a webcam and want to be sure the battery doesn't die before a video call is completed. I've found a dummy battery for the RX-100 that uses the same battery as the ZV-1 I believe (NP-BX1).

Or, does anyone know if I can just connect the dummy battery to a 5v, 2A USB wall charger?

Recommendations welcome

I do like the owls, the wing span on the eagle owl is massive, but it does not look like it when sitting still.

My Peak Design package came today and I’m thrilled with it. I got the 6L Everyday Sling, Capture Clip, and a their wrist strap.

The Sling is the perfect size. I can fit the CV 12, Loxias 21, 35, and 85, filter kit, extra batteries, remote control, and the a7R II all inside the bag at once! Admittedly this is with the lens detached from the camera, but that’s why I bought the capture clip. I have the clip mounted to the bag itself, so when I’m out shooting the camera with lens mounted is on the outside of the bag where I can quickly access it.

With my bigger AF lenses I can only fit three lenses at the moment, which is fine because even if I could carry a 4th lens, it would be too heavy for my preference.

I don’t know how much, or if at all, I’ll use the wrist strap, but I like that I can have it on my wrist in case I feel the need. They cleverly installed a magnet on the clip so you can wrap up the strap on your wrist and it’s just a bracelet.

Along with the PD tripod this really feels like an exceedingly great whole-system that is enjoyable to carry.

My only tiny complaint is I would like a small sleeve on the outside of the bag for holding a lens pen.

I don't know for sure. I've never tried it or needed to. But I'm certain you are along the right lines with your idea. ..... I've read similar with astro stuff where a dummy battery is used with an "input" wire to connect to the external supply.

I don’t know for sure so check before I kill your cam but you should be able to attach it to the mains via the charger and t will charge as you are using it. I know I can do this with my GoPro

Edit - so however you plug the camera in to the mains to charge, you should be able to also turn it on and use it during that time
