Can't help you with the A9ii, but my A9 with the sigma adapter works well with most of my Canon lens. The EF 70-200 f/2.8Lii and the EF 100 f/2.8L have minor issues at times both on the A9 & A7Riv, but more so on the A7Riv. A9 works better than the A7Riv with Canon 100-400.

My standard Canon zooms and primes work fine with the Sigma adaptor and both bodies.

If I were an action shooter or serious BIF shooter, I'd bite the bullet and go native FE on the long lenses. I'm not, and I'm cheap, so I don't see myself selling off my Canon lenses and going native Sony E mount.

OTOH, if I can get my motorcycle sold, I'll probably pick up an FE 200-600.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

It might not be useful to a lot of you folks here, but...Episode 16 is online now! Perfect for an after work editing tutorial. I have made some changes to the videos, I am now working in 4k so that there is a HD version available. I found out that some of you folks are watching on their big TV and that the quality suffered a little. So I revamped the entire process and now everything is in 4K!

This week I go over an often overlooked or unknown feature called Auto-Mask in the Brush Adjustments panel. It is a critical feature when editing single images that have a lot of dynamic range and high contrast. I hope you enjoy it.

I haven’t watched yet, but looking forward to it! :)

I hope someone here purchased some Kodak stock recently. It went from around $2 to $45 in a few days. Crazy.

Haha, I wasn’t paying attention and missed out on that. Heck, I even listened to the press conference that sparked the whole thing, but still didn’t think about it today.

I’m not feeling bad about missing out though, because the last three months in the market have been fantastic for me. :)

Panorama Point, Colorado

I was hoping for an epic sunset after a stormy afternoon but the clouds mostly disappeared on me. I missed getting the sunstar by the slightest margin because I was at a different location shooting a pond. Here you can see some of Colorado's 14'teeners in the distance. Will return in September when the fall colors arrive.

Anyone on here own the A9II? I just want to ask a few questions before I actually decide to order one. Or is there a good honest review that you can send me. Thank you.

Ask away...it might help point you to a review or we might be able to answer...a9 an a9ii are very similar.

That’s awesome David. I’ve only recently started investing the past few months. Learning a ton along the way. I’m hoping Tesla keeps going up.

Extension Tubes vs dedicated Macro lens

Looking at a Tokina atx-i 100 can get it for $350 in canon and then put the MC11 to use I guess

Or just keep the pack tight and get some good tubes and use with the tammy 70-180

Another retro a7riv photo. I added more of the skins...may pull the skins off the hotshoe since its kind sloppy looking and I'm pretty sure my speedlights will peel them off.

Looks like Sigma has a native 85mm in the pipeline. Size looks good!

I doubt that I'd trade my 85GM for it even though I'm sure the Sigma will be sharper wide open. My mind may change if the 85 renders like the 35 1.2 though....

Either way this is a good sign that they will eventually release a native 135mm that doesn't cost GMoney

That’s fantastic! Unexpectedly I’m really turning into a Sigma fan.

I LOVE my 35mm 1.2, and I WANT a 14-24mm, and I will be BUYING the new 100-400 (in October when my kayak ships).

I’m really surprised I’m not seeing much interest in the Sigma 100-400mm here. It only gives up 1/3 stop to the GM, yet is much smaller/lighter. It matches the optical performance of the GM for $1500 less.

Oh I am interested...but I have fallen down the rabbit hole of mountain bikes lately...

Great photos, both of them. Really wish I had access to such vistas! Will have to try to get out more in the national park near my place once I get my Fuji.

I have (manual) Yashica tubes with my 35mm stuff. I have used them on the A7 but it is a pain if you are also using the lens 'normally' - I don't tend to use the Yashica primes any more so I would keep it with the tubes permanently attached whilst out - which is very rare anyway as I don't tend to shoot macro.

I wish mine was a 'vista' It would look 99% worse without a colourful sky. Thank you for the comment though :-)
