So I went out today to shoot the last of the Hosta flowers and a bee decided to photo bomb my attempt. You can see just how serious he was about getting to the pollen.

Wild flowers by the lake. The first one is, I believe, Himalayan balsam, introduced to Britain in the 19th century for its flowers. Now it is just another invasive weed. I stilll like the flowers, though, and get many of my insect shots on them, but not today with the 16-35L lens on the 5D rather than the macro.

My Dad passed away in April, gardening was his passion. Enjoyed a cup of coffee this morning while remembering him and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Every time I look at this section of our yard I think of him.
