Just got back. 3+ weeks out west. Lots of good experiences.
As in most past trips, certain animal goals were hoped for. No. 1 a mountain goat.
Happily found this one, and several others when the 28-200 was on the Riv.
In cropper mode for the 300mm. Super super pleased with this lens. It and the 17-28 (and
the 200600 along for the ride as well) have really got me second guessing a lot of excess gear (anyone
want a24/1.4GM?, soon to be on the buy/sell thread at FM).

Skinned the Tamron 70-180 to look more "Pro" :-)

Had to order this from the Chinese Life Guards since the US site didn't have the white carbon fiber for the Tamron. It shipped for free and got here in 1 day....when I ordered from the US site, it took a week just to ship out and then a couple days after to arrive.

85GM getting skinned in brushed metal black this afternoon.

I have just recently started reading this thread. Can you please share the websites where I can get these lens skins from?

Thanks

I just managed to pick up a used Tamron 150-600 G2 lens for an absolute bargain price. Great time for the full moon to rise behind Auckland's Sky Tower

I'm selling my A7R4 too, very disappointed with it, I should of bought the A9ii. But now there is the Canon R6 and R5 to consider, I'm going to take my time to make my mind up.

May I inquire what was disappointing in the A7R4? I’ve been toying with the idea of an R4 myself as a second camera.

Nice. I've been looking at used M1X's but will probably just stick with Sony and Fuji.
Oly's new 100-400 really looks good though :(

Not knowing but I'd bet the 61mpx demands more than most are willing to devote and use scenarios where expectations aren't met.
I'm keeping mine.

I just cant get on with it, to be honest I bought the wrong camera, I made a huge expensive mistake. If you want a landscape/ stills camera then its wonderful, my passion is wildlife and the A9ii excels in this.

We all expect different things from our cameras, I made a mistake buying the A7R4, I'm not slagging it off, just not for my needs.
