the Ross Crana is a cruise boat. They have the same sort of boat on the Canal du Midi. Quite cheap to cruise on the Midi if you're a millionaire  I can't see the costs on this site?

Got these today. It's the Mayflower II going under the railroad bridge on the Cape Cod canal after a several year retrofit in Mystic CT. For the non locals, the center span on the bridge lowers to ground level allowing trains to cross the canal.

Got this vacationing in Scotland. Not even sure of its function.

Beautiful scene.
The colours and misty background make this.

Beautiful. I'm pretty sure that came out here to the Wooden Boat Festival many years ago.
To see it in action would be special.

A Caledonian Canal cruiser.
The primary function of all boats is to stay afloat, then comes the secondary functions.

This link'll give you the price.

Not too expensive considering the costs involved, like paying the crew and maintaining the boat etc: - I suppose. £915/6days. About £152/head/day. I'd like to try it but it is fully booked for next year. You could easily spend that in the highlands by the time you've booked in at a reasonable hotel, paid the piper - or several pipers, scoffed down Haggis and Neeps and downed a fair old dram of Scotch Whiskey.:-)

Blimey Ray, that's a hell of a lot cheaper than the Canal du Midi. For that price you get a plastic boat and you are the driver.

Plus, there are far too many boats on that canal and in the high season, July/August, there are long queues at the locks.

The big peniches, 100" barges, carry 6 and work out at 5 or 6,000€ a week each! Oh, and don't try swimming in that canal or you would just be 'going through the motions' as it were. The boats don't carry their waste and it relies the slow flow, about 1 or 2 mph to get rid. All of the eclusiers, lock keepers, have so many inoculations they leak! The one on our nearest lock was a friend of ours. The stange thing about it is that it doesn't smell?
