The first of several pairs of Masked Lapwings (Plovers) have hatched their brood, so from now on anyone or anything that gets too close is a target. :lol:

The White Faced Heron was just strolling along minding its own business and unwittingly got too close to the chicks, prompting a full blown aerial assault from the parents.

It's true, but this bird colony is on an island. I was able to reach it by kayak (1.5 hours of paddling) six months ago, now they closed the shore for construction. I can't go there anymore. It has an amazing flock of flamingos and Socotra cormorants...
