Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This weeks the theme is Animal. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us an Animal... Of coarse any type is good, pets, wildlife, zoo etc...

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Thank You John!

I just finished a trip from Seattle to Sun Valley ID and then up through Montana and back to Seattle through Couer D'Alene ID. Been off grid most of the time. I have some family matters to attend to and I will be in and out of POTN as internet connections allow..

Again, Thank You John for stepping in

I had an early morning walk (very early) and met this kitty.

It then came my way. Here it's very close to the MFD of the 300/4. That's when I left, as cats have been known to carry The Virus...

My pandemic project. It might be coming to an end pretty soon, though. But, it sure was fun while it lasted.

.
I've been photographing a couple of Spadefoot Toads this past week. . The species of Spadefoot we have here in eastern Washington are the Great Basin Spadefoot.

My favorite so far is this one in which the toad's eye membrane is halfway closed. . I think the Spadefoots' eyes are so beautiful, and the half-closed membrane just helps to draw the viewer's attention to the eye.

Taken with the 100-400mm v2 with a 1.4 extender and a 20mm extension tube, because these guys are tiny - only about 1 1/8 inch around. . The eye itself is about the size of a .17 caliber bee bee. . Cropped a bit to show the details of the toad more, and the surrounding sand/sky habitat a bit less.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
