Hi all, I just purchased a Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS. I just used it for the first time today, just taking a few test shots around my house, and I noticed that when IS is turned on, I can hear a noise when the shutter button is pushed down slightly or after a shot is taken. Is this normal?

I also just bought the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS and it's completely silent.

I'm sure I won't notice it as much when I'm shooting outdoors but just wanted to see if others have noticed the same thing specifically with the 16-35mm f/4L IS.

Thanks!

That is the IS engaging and then disengaging. That is normal is it turns on and off. Certain lenses with the dimensions allow the IS “noise to be more audible than others.
I have both lenses as well.
