Makoti, a VERY SMALL town, puts forth a lot of effort to put on their Thresher Show.
I really like the fact that ALL of their tractors are in running order.
Makes for a fun weekend.

AS for the avatar, that's what happens when you don't shave or get a hair cut.
Thanks for the comment.

Old tractors are used to take the fishing boats to the sea. They are left at the high tide mark whilst the owners go fishing.

So when tractors get old enough that they can retire, they get to spend all their free time hanging around on a nice beach somewhere. And all the tourists ask if they can take their picture. That seems about right and sounds kind of poetic, doesn't it?

Actually, it sounds like the basis for a series of children's stories that someone should write.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

That is an exceptionally good idea!

an interesting storey and video on an old innovation from 1915
Big Lizzie was considered to be the world's largest tractor of her time

It pioneered an innovative wheel design for smashing through sand dunes and thick scrub

The giant machine took a year to build and two years to drive to its destination

Can't beat a little tractor therapy! What model is it? I had an L3010 that was amazing. Now I have a Kioti AKA "Fauxbota".

Canon 80D and kit zooms. Also 50mm 1.8 and 10-16mm.
