Wow. I thought it was a painting or some kind of photoshop at first. If we’re still doing a yearly book, that’s book worthy.

Mike this is another lovely, attractive scenic bird photo
All said before me I endorse.
You've got a winning location and making excellent use of it.

Thank you Melissa. The only way I can comfortably carry my 1DX ii around is with a camera hand strap. If one hand gets tired, I just switch my camera and lens to the other hand. I'd love to be able to use the Peak Design Slide strap. I've tried it and it just doesn't work for me. With two total shoulder replacements, I simply can't do it. I use a tripod when my walking distance is not very far. And I use a monopod fairly frequently. It's really not a matter of how I carry my camera, but rather the overall weight that gets to me.

If it's an upper body/shoulder load issue, would something like the Spider Holster work for you? That'd keep the weight down at your hips instead, and keep your hands free until you're shooting.

Thank you very much, SYS. It's just such a neat pond I stumbled on.

Thank you very much John. That's a very nice compliment. No major photo-shopping on this picture...just the normal tweaking.

At times, this pond is almost magical looking, with the different colors and old dead trees in the water. I sit there for hours, sometimes taking very few photos, but just enjoying the place.

I'm a long, long, long way from a Monet, fotoi, but I surely thank you, and appreciate your very kind comment.

I've actually tried that, and really don't care for it with big lenses like my Canon 400 mm f/4 DO or my 100-400 on the 1DX ii. Many of the older people here know what I'm talking about. Back and shoulder issues have increased dramatically with my age. I simply have to reduce the weight of the camera and lenses that I carry. I still have my old Canon 400mm f/5.6 L prime lens that I rarely shoot with anymore due to it's lack of image stabilization. As soon as I'm able to shoot with my new EOS R5, which has image stabilization, I plan to stick my old 400 on it, and get with the game.

Eric...that's a very nice shot of the BCNH! Good work!

I use Spider Holster only for my home basement studio work where my hands need to be free in order to arrange and rearrange lighting equipment around. It's not for something as heavy as your gear. For anything heavy, my go to carrier is Cotton Carrier Vest that balances in the center of your body and not on your neck or either side of your shoulders. I, too, have physical issues, and I don't like to carry anything off-balanced.

Thanks, it is an adult Crimson Rosella, one of the local native parrot species we have in the area.
