Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking. I fullscreened it on my 55" Samsung KS8500 and drank in the glory panning the full image back and forth across my screen. I love how immense the view is - everything from the foreground grasses to the distant cloud formations.

Truly amazing Robert.
It has a real 3D effect, especially the largest peak and then out to the plains at left.
What a stunning landscape ,beautiful colours.
You've captured it in true reality.

That is awesome! So what causes the red layers? different material?

EDIT - Googled it

"The spectacular landscape in Badlands National Park is a reflection of ongoing erosional forces carving
bedrock consisting of sedimentary rock formations. The exposed sedimentary strata preserve a record of
more ancient geologic events and processes including changing depositional environments and the tectonic
uplift and folding of rock layers in the Earth’s crust."

Thanks guys!
I think the colors are iron oxide. Hey I've got that in my well water up at the cabin....hmmmm ;)

Sedimentary my dear Mr. Watson.

Amazing cross-section caused by wind and water erosion.

Another waterfall...sorry..it is what I have right now...this one is actually really tall, it drops over 50 feet from those big sticks on the right down to the bottom...and I find these images so much more appealing with the way the Sony handles color...on a scene like this with such contrast I edited this from one image...no blending or anything. Eventually, I will post something other than a waterfall...

Thanks, yes, Batis 18...I just love the colors. So much that I want to try the 40mm to see if it renders the same.

Went for a short trek a couple of days ago and came across this stream, wish I had a couple of NDs with me for the 12-24 GM but I'll have to wait for a rear filter kit, hopefully someone releases one before the fall season.

Nothing touches Zeiss for pure brilliant color rendition and it is magic when paired with a Sony sensor. The 40mm would make a great pairing with the 18mm imo.

I agree...just one of the many reasons I can't get rid of the 18 or 25...I think that trinity would be pretty special together...there have been several occasions where 35 was just a bit too wide...and I don't have a 50mm anymore...40 would fit nicely.

I like the veil-like quality of the falls in this one.
