Hi,

I've been doing a lot of pano lately and it's usually ok, especially when I add some control points myself in PTGui but there is one element where it always bothers me and comes out crap: water. Obviously I can't really find matching control points because of the movement of the water; the healing tool in LR or Pixelmator doesn't work, it simple moves the anomaly to the right or left...

How would you go about fixing these kind of error ?

You could try photoshop. You need to make a selection of the water from the anomaly to the righthand side and then move it vertically to align the white wave. You then need to contract and stretch the selection vertically as well to try and align the other waves.

Quick example Virginie, flipped the image as a layer, and painted the water back in to be a "mirror" image for the right hand side.
This was literally 1 min, couldn't be bothered with your red circle, but gives you an idea on what you can do.
Would it be printable using this methodology, yes, but only at small sizes. I would never print it large.

Sort of defeats shooting the pano the way you did.

This is probably not a stitching error, as the mountains (the static element) are aligned, stitched and blended properly. The water is moving between shots, so the waves/ripples in one image do not line up with the waves in the next image. You may need to change the blend parameters in PTGui to manage this (make the seam softer).

If you really want to try something fun, you can try the Flood plug-in from Flaming Pear. It does a pretty terrific job of simulating water in exactly the situation in your image.

Good example Kirkt, that would also work for large prints unlike my option.

The Flaming Pear plug-ins all have free trials. They are excellent.

Here is another method, just for the sake of variety.

Nice solution Peano, might have to give that a try sometime.
