Thank both of you. I bought my 5D about a year ago for the great color and what I have heard about it.

I also bought it to be a car camera, leave it in my car so I always have a camera with me. One thing I like about it is that I tend to shoot manual, but even in P it is more like the old days it doesn't do everything for you. I just like it.

Yeah, no bells and whistles but still a very capable camera.

That is one of the things I like about it, it is like and old fashioned coffee pot vs a Kuerig. I don't use it as much as my other Canon's but when I just want to go simple or carry a camera and take some shots I often grab it.

I find the 5D renders colors very well, better than the 6D.

I've been told I'm crazy for saying the exact same thing. I was SOOOO disappointed when I got my 6D. I've warmed up to it a little bit, but it's still 'just a camera' to me. The 5D I had an emotional connection to. I thought my X100F was going to replace it, but it just hasn't.

Use my 7D2 85% of the time - its always a special outing when I bring the 5D with me. Its interesting because if you decided to drive your old but capable car - it gets looks from people and its a conversation piece. The 5D feels special to me but its a different thing - it looks like any other DSLR with a lens. Until you see the images... I enjoy taking action wildlife with it sometimes. When it works it really works. Quite capable. It of course needs good or fair light, but Lr can deal with noise well or otherwise make it B&W. My last outing in August:

Got a 5Dc for cheep since the mirror had fallen out. Some super glue (Gorilla one with gel so that it does not spread) and 2 hours later, I have a fully functional (took a few test shots and they look good) 5Dc. Happy to be back on this one. Always regretted selling mine. Will not sell this one. Will let it rest for another 24 hours before doing some serious shots.
