West Kingsdown Windmill. West Kingsdown. Kent. UK.
Picture taken c1960.
I visited the site last week to get a current shot, but, it was surrounded by scaffolding and they had the sails removed.
This windmill is under the control of Kent County Council.

Smock mill
Extract from Wiki - West Kingsdown Windmill was built in the early nineteenth century at Chimham's Farm, Farningham. It was marked on the 1819–20 Ordnance Survey map,[3] Greenwoods map of 1821 and the Farningham Tithe Map of 1840. In 1880, it was moved to West Kingsdown, joining a post mill that was already there. The post mill burnt down in May 1909. The mill was working by wind until 1928. One of the sails was damaged on 25 December 1929 and the fantail blew off in November 1930.[2] The mill was restored externally in 1960 by Thompson & Son, Millwrights of Alford, Lincolnshire[4] at a cost of £4.400.[5] In 2009, repairs to the weatherboards were made, and the mill was repainted. As of November 2010, it is awaiting the fitting of new sails.

Going to work this morning I saw this beautiful rainbow. And underneath it was this typical Dutch windmill. Now, I still want to make some good shots of those windmills, but this one I couldn't let go.
No postprocessing except straightening the horizon, although I should remove the powerlines.

This is what I saw this morning. Nice start of a rainy Monday :)

I've always liked the contrast between old & new forms of windpower in this one (even though the Lady of Avenel is a relatively modern sailing ship)

and I may as well add another view of the Gunfleet windfarm from my gallery:
