My pair of single action .454 Casull revolvers. Top one is a Freedom Arms Model 83 Premier and the bottom is a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley.

Gorgeous!

If I had a .454 SA I might hang on to it, :)
Not being facetious, I somehow managed to acquire a DA .454 Redhawk in my youth,. and though it is very impressive, I don;t think I will be holding on to it much longer, not the least of which is at my age, I don't think I CAN hold on to it when it goes off! ;)
But if it was a gorgeous SA, I think I'd keep it :)

These are definitely a handful to shoot. I hand load so I have not loaded to full potential, just below the recommended starting loads in the Freedom Arms manual. I can also load milder rounds as well as hot .45 Colt loads. I'm 71 years old and still get a "kick" out of shooting these.

The Freedom Arms is the "Rolex" and the Ruger is the "Timex", both great shooters.

just picked up a Boston PD S&W model 10-5 with 2 inch barrel, left the factory as a 4" but BPD armorers changed it to 2"

shows wear, about 60% gun, but I needed one for the collection.

Yes, for both wrist and cost reasons, I've been shooting them as .45 colt,. but I don't hand load so the price difference is COLOSSAL!

Great analogy. That Freedom arms is definitely a Rolex!

I have (arguably) the only known 1911 .45 ACP that has custom made checkered USCG Logo grips!!! :-D

Lots of people have Glocks, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, etc... all in 9mm or whatever flavor. I just happen to prefer the timeless classic, 1911 that I qualified on in bootcamp all those years ago.

100+ year design, and still going strong! 8-)

Hello fellow Mass. resident. Have you ever shot cowboy action at Harvard Sportsmans Club?

No, mostly shot at Independent in Foxboro, small local match and down in Foster RI. and the Great Nor'easter in Pelham.

Don't do it anymore due to severe arthritis.

Still have my gun cart but am thinking of selling it

Sorry to hear about your arthritis and not being able to shoot. I know the feeling, I haven't shot much because of balance issues, still trying to determine the cause and the cure. Take care!
