It was great being able to see the bears in two different environments. Here's another from the Haines area on the
Chilkat. It was here we had the most close encounters.

Interesting posture of the bear. If that was my photo, it would go on the living room wall.

It has been a great month of polar bear viewing in Churchill, MB. The bay froze a couple days ago but there are still a few bears sticking around.

My closest bear encounter of the trip.
i was 'working' a bear in the middle of the river and out of the corner of my eye
this guy appears on the left. You know you can't run :) So keep shooting.

I am sure the bear was carrying the feather in his mouth to let you know he was coming in peace. It’s an old bear sign. (Or he might have just eaten a seagull...)

Just adding to the repository. Another from Haines and on a super super bright day. I'm telling ya the bear needed sunglasses on to spot me.

Young Black bear at Riding Mountain National Park Manitoba Canada.
They have amazing strength and dexterity. He was able to bend over good sized tree/bush and then gently manipulate branches so as to get those good good berries.

That's a really interesting image. It looks like the bear is leaning on a desk. Very anthropomorphic. It could have interesting captions.

"Do we have a deal, or not?"
