Counting the spots... hmm, some on the nearest wing must be out of view. Great clarity and lighting!

Thanks! I pretty much have the light that I want to shoot with, although I may make another pass at building a more compacts set.

Thanks MM, it is a three shot focus stack. I really needed a few more but it flew away

It's been so hot and dry lately that these 22 Spot Ladybugs are about the only target in my yard, and they are still mating even though it's September.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 200) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (set to about 2.5x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering with -1/3 FEC). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI and Clarity in that order.

Managed to get one of these little bees in flight, with its 'saddlebag' pollen sac clearly visible. At least, I think that's what it is. Am I right?

I found this mating pair of 22 Spot Ladybugs on my zucchini after I watered the garden. The specular reflections in the water drops are barely noticeable due to how well my new diffuser design is working (I didn't do anything to tone down those highlights in post). If you zoom in you can even see texture in the surface of the water drop on the male.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 200) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (3x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering with -1/3 FEC). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI and Clarity in that order.

You have really nailed that diffusion!

This looks a bit odd - not quite sure what state this fly is in

Thanks! I like all of the texture detail that I can pick up now that I'm not blowing it out with the light.

How big is your diffuser now? If you care to share a photo it would be interesting to see but appreciate if you want to keep it under your hat
