our resident stray cat that turned up one day
We assume it was abandoned at the house up the road when they moved on.
It doesn't fly off like a feral, but is cautious of us

But that goes out the wind when you put out proper food for it ( the kind it really likes)

The way he/she is looking at you is a sign that it sort of trusts you already. There was a feral that lived near us 2 years ago, and with coaxing, talking, looking, crouching down to eye level, and crunchy love (food) on a schedule, he adopted us and one day just moved in. Took almost a full year for all that to happen. Lolli's been inside for a year now and is extremely affectionate (yet aloof), but still has some of the young hormone problems he's still dealing with, but he gets better month by month. Some ferals cannot be rehabilitated, but most can, with love, time and care.

I hope all goes well with that little fellow and you.

Thanks for the comments.
Unfortunately it won't become a pet here.
I've had cats all my life and when our last cat died a couple of years ago my wife decided it was time to let go of them.
She's been crook for last 12 months, all manner of tests and one of the things they turned up was keep away from cats and dogs.

I could have that cat befriended in a week, I've a way with cats and this one certainly is familiar with my presence.
I'm sorta working on it but only to find it a new home relocated to a caring and loving place.
A dilemma of sorts and such a beautiful cat.

The other day another cat lobbed up on our window sill and sat there looking in.
I was stunned and went to the door to see what it was like but it departed and haven't seen it since.
Obviously a house cat.
We live on a farm so any cat would have to travel to get here.

This is Baby Gray, her and her brother Stormy were abandoned (we think...) by their feral mother shortly after giving birth in late March. The dogs actually heard them "crying", one by the shed and one on the sidewalk. We looked all over and only could find the two, and didn't see or hear anything in the area for the next couple days so we are guessing they are the only two born or that survived. Their eyes weren't even open yet. My wife cared for them and bottle-fed them every 2 - 3 hours for the first few weeks until they started eating solid food. 5 months later they seem to be happy and healthy and getting into everything, but I guess that is what they do at this stage. Baby Gray just loves watching the computer screen and occasionally swat at the cursor.

I've got four kittens that have recently turned up, they are costing me a fortune in food. My 'own' cat which is 12 years old is not at all impressed with these newcomers.
